The roar of engines, the thrill of poker, and a strong sense of community will come together once again this summer as the Central Coast Poker Rally returns to Monterey County. More than just a car event, this one-of-a-kind rally combines high-octane fun with heartfelt fundraising, all in support of the Mid-Coast Fire Brigade.

A Rally With Purpose

On August 12, rally enthusiasts, car collectors, and community supporters will gather for a full-day automotive experience that stretches from brunch to dinner. Organized by Event Directors Mitch and Marsha Taylor, this marks the fourth edition of the Central Coast Poker Rally, and it’s shaping up to be the most exciting one yet.

But this rally isn’t just about fast cars and scenic drives. It’s a fundraiser with real impact, raising much-needed funds for the local firefighters who protect California’s Central Coast.

“The whole idea is to have fun and raise money for the people who risk their lives to protect us,says Marsha.

The Lineup: Cars, Cards, and Coastal Roads

This year’s rally invites owners of exotics, Porsches, Shelby Cobras, Corvettes, and modern American muscle cars to take part in a cruise across iconic Monterey County landmarks. The rally blends the excitement of the road with the fun of a poker game: at each scheduled stop, participants will receive a playing card, building their hand throughout the day.

To make things even more exciting, each stop will feature a surprise gift from a rally sponsor.

And what’s at stake? The participant with the best poker hand at the end of the day will receive a custom painting of their car by world-renowned motorsports artist Kelly Telfer, a truly unique and memorable prize.

From Starting Line to Grand Finale

The day begins at the Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel, where drivers will check in and enjoy a brunch hosted by Allegro Pizzeria. From there, the rally continues across multiple scenic destinations, including the legendary WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where participants will have the rare opportunity to take a few exhilarating laps on the iconic track.

The final stop is at Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course, where the celebration continues with:

  • Live music by The Money Band
  • Raffle and silent auction
  • Prize giveaways
  • Dinner and after-party

“We’re even opening ticket sales for a limited number of people to join us at the after-party,” adds Marsha. “It’s important for us to include the community.”

Supporting Local Heroes

While the rally is packed with entertainment, hospitality, and automotive spirit, its core mission is focused on supporting the Mid-Coast Fire Brigade , the brave firefighters who serve the region.

Mitch Taylor, a former race car champion, brings both his passion for motorsports and his commitment to community into this annual event, turning an incredible rally experience into meaningful local support.
